D'Prompt Theater, nestled in the heart of Prague, is an independent theatre company founded on the principles of collaboration and cultural enrichment. Our shows transcend language barriers with English performances complemented by Czech subtitles, embracing both the local and expatriate communities. Our Story
Founded under the enigmatic shadow of Friday the 13th in December 2019 (Purely by chance), our independent theatre company, co-created by Christopher Adamson and Levan Mania, stands as a crucible of classic theatre in the heart of Prague. We pride ourselves on presenting a blend of daring contemporary performances and timeless classical renditions, which have yet to grace the stage or have been seldom explored with such authenticity. Our vision was to have our focus on the craft and art of performance realised and to open this to everyone with fair and open castings with every show.
Our inaugural production, 'Inevitably We Drink,' plunged audiences into the depths of alcoholism, woven intricately with threads of existential philosophy. It was a bold exploration of the human condition that resonated with the raw and unyielding truths of life. We followed this insight into the human psyche with our second play, 'The White Banners,' a harrowing narrative set against the backdrop of prisoners on the cusp of sentencing. This piece navigated the tumultuous seas of ethics, morality, and justice, both from the perspective of the collective conscience and the traditional judiciary system, laying bare the complexities of human choices.
Our ensemble comprises a dynamic tapestry of actors, directors, and educators hailing from the diverse corners of the globe. Each member is not only dedicated to refining their craft but also committed to stepping beyond the confines of their creative comfort zones.
